Exhaust Fan Hinge Kit Installation

Meet NFPA 96 Requirements while improving the life of your fan. Every exhaust fan must be accessible for cleaning and maintenance. Hinge kits, or hinges for the fan, are the only safe solution to ensure a complete cleaning. Fire inspectors require hinge kits on all fans so the system can be properly cleaned and inspected. These are the three main reasons why exhaust fan hinge kits are important:

  • NFPA 96 requires them for proper cleaning and inspection. Basically, it’s the law.
  • A hinge kit protects the cleaner, inspector and the equipment from harm or damage during cleaning and maintenance.
  • A hinge kit, when properly installed, protects the exhaust fan from being damaged when tilted up to be cleaned. A damaged fan or fan cover can reduce your fans efficiency.
